2 Days and 1 Night (1박 2일)

South Korea, the first country I wanted to visit when I get the chance to go overseas. I have been researching about this certain country everyday over the internet until I discovered a variety show back in 2011 called "2 Days and 1 Night". It is as I said a reality-variety show that introduces tourists spots and destinations in the land of South Korea around the world. It became my favorite TV program ever since I first watched the show. In fact, it has been my ritual to watch it every week. The show never failed to amaze me as it brings me closer to South Korea and taught me some Korean culture. I don't only learn about various places in Korea while watching the show it is also the time I can relax, laugh, enjoy and spend some quality time with myself.

The show is currently being hosted by 7 top icons in South Korea namely (from left to right) Kim Jong Min, Joo Won, Sung Shi Kyung, new member Yoo Hae-jin, Uhm Tae-woong, Lee Su Geun and Cha Tae Hyun. They are my favorite set of hosts in the show's history so far as each cast member has different kinds of personalities but can deliver a lot of humor to the audience. They have to promote each place they travel for 2 days and 1 night. The cast members travel from the biggest cities to the smallest provinces of South Korea. They even travel to off-shore islands and climb mountains to promote Korea's nature and best assets.

The show's motto is "real wild road variety". Its meaning is to promote Korea's finest while the cast members take the road, accomplish some challenges given by the director and conduct a game called the bok-bul-bok game. The bok-bul-bok game or the blessing-curse-blessing game comes in different versions such as the lunch, dinner, sleeping and breakfast bok-bul-bok. The casts are split into two teams (different teams per episode) and try to win over the challenges. Each game is played depending on what challenge did the director has prepared. The winning team (per challenge) gets to eat and sleep comfortably while the losing team will starve and will have sleep outdoors. Its really fun to watch the losing team trying to beg the winning team to give them food. HAHA! I think its not enough for me to explain those bok-bul-bok games I'm saying. You must watch it to completely understand what I'm talking about. I promise you won't regret watching it.

Here are some pictures of one of my favorite episodes aired last year. They are having a sleeping bok-bul-bok game.

Anyway, another episode was aired earlier this afternoon. As expected I laughed out loud watching them play the bok-bul-bok game. Especially when they played the sleeping bok-bul-bok. I recommend you to watch it.

Here is the link of yesterday's episode. It will keep you hanging tough but its worth the wait! I found it posted on youtube so I decide to blog about it. Part 2 will be aired next Sunday.

Here are some previous episodes of 2 Days and 1 Night if you don't want to be left hanging. Enjoy! :)
